Our Mentorship Program provides the ability for those new to the healthcare facilities management profession or students studying in the field to connect with experienced, energetic and committed professionals willing to contribute to the future excellence of the profession.
Mentors will share their experiences, offer advice and encouragement, answer questions and act as leaders/advisors to mentees.
Mentees can expect from their Mentors:
- A forum to obtain practical and honest career advice from experienced professionals.
- Information that is timely, useful, and corresponds with ongoing challenges.
- Responses that are meaningful, accurate, and a clear representation of the current healthcare facilities management field environment.
- Examples of conduct that inspire and instill a sense of pride in the healthcare facilities management profession.
- Efficient direction to appropriate TAHFM information sources.
- Ways of identifying possible future tracks, needs, concerns, and challenges of healthcare facilities management.
Mentors would be asked to:
- Communicate at least once a month, via the agreed upon means of communication.
- Be a resource to answer questions, address concerns, industry education, etc.
- Discuss career goals and opportunities.
- Increase awareness and involvement in TAHFM/ASHE Associations and the value it brings to their career.
- Meet ups at events, such as the Annual Conference, Education Sessions, or other TAHFM/ASHE events.
- Grow professional networks.
