TAHFM has recently become the Texas State Chapter of ASHES. Be sure to inform your EVS Department about this affiliation. They will want to join as TAHFM will be focusing on education for these professionals as well continued
new programs for Facilities Management.

ASHES Announces 2007 Health Care Environmental Services and Housekeeping Week

The American Society for Healthcare Environmental Services (ASHES) announced Sept. 9-15, 2007 is National Health Care Environment Services and Housekeeping Week. With the theme, “Environmental Services: Partners in Quality, Patient Safety, Excellence,” this week is set aside to recognize the importance of the environmental services and housekeeping staff who work on  the health care front lines to provide a clean and safe environment for patients, visitors and staff through their high-quality services, patient safety satisfaction and infection control practices.

All health care facilities are encouraged to participate in Environmental Services and Housekeeping Week by recognizing their staff at special events, luncheons or activities geared toward employee and departmental recognition.
